A Sound Asleep

A Sound Asleep

Shards of daisies
cut grass
paper cuts
lovetailed joints
bruised cockknuckles

an end is in sight

piano pleads a peal
teardrops tear to a stop
a cough
a rise-fall
breath stutter

it ends tonight

emphatic applause
appassionata sonata
soothes to a nocturne
asleep a sound
asleep

Asleep
asleep a sound
soothes to a nocturne
appassionata sonata
emphatic applause

it ends tonight

breath stutter
a rise-fall
a cough
teardrops tear to a stop
piano pleads a peal

an end is in sight

bruised cockknuckles
lovetailed joints
paper cuts
cut grass
shards of daisies

A 100 word poem by Mark 'Citizen Mace' Smith
Composed in Manchester, UK, whilst listening to Beethoven on Radio 3.
Knowing it's time to wake up and be free.
